She is famous for having ushered in the ‘waif look’, but it was in advertising that she first made her name. She was still unknown when she signed her first exclusivity contracts for Calvin Klein campaigns and suddenly became the most in-vogue face worldwide. Take a superstar and add a whiff of scandal and you have the embodiment of fashion and luxury she is today. Les Arts Décoratifs is celebrating the Kate Moss myth and its creation by some of the greatest photographers of the last twenty years.

Opening : From the 2008-04-03
to the 2008-10-05
Timing : Tuesdays to Fridays from 11 AM to 6 PM
Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 6 PM A great initiative on the part of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, this exhibition entitled "Napoléon - Symboles des pouvoirs sous l'Empire", presents us with an interesting perspective on the Decorative Arts during the Napoleonic period, their development, role and significance... Contrary to the ideas of the past, we learn that the ornaments of the Empire are far from being merely symbols of political power. In fact, with 250 objects (furniture, pieces of gold and silver plate, ceramics, textiles, wallpaper, etc.) representing, among other things, the eagle, the butterfly, the crown of flowers, the swan or Psyche, the exhibition encourages us to « put aside our prejudices that are tied to Napoleonic symbols » by broaching the theme of seduction, the other aspect of power. Don’t miss the chance to discover these exceptional pieces which the Musée des Arts Décoratifs has selected from the most prestigious museums of the Paris region. Pure delight. Runs until October 5th.

Winner of the Creator of Year Award at the 2007 Salon Maison et Objet, he works in a similar spirit to Jasper Morrison with rigorous and minimalist lines. At the museum’s invitation, Grcic decided to create a dialogue between his own work and some of the works in the museum’s historic collections. Their comparison is accompanied is by a short conversation between the works.
